Natalie had been telling me for months to submit some of my photos to the Nashville Scene Reader’s Choice Photo Contest, but it took up until an hour before submissions closed to make my move. Thankfully right before midnight that evening I searched through some of the work I’d produced over the past year of living in Nashville and found one that I felt had a real chance. A month later, the 2015 Photography Issue is on stands with my photo sporting a Judges & Readers’ Choice Honorable Mention. It didn’t quite make the cut for the Judges Choice or the Readers’ Choice, but I’m more than honored to know that I was close on both fronts. I hope you enjoy what I feel to be an image with a lot of heart, emotion, and a reason to keep hitting the streets and capturing authentic moments.
